Season Recap: Started all 41 matches … led the team with 46 service aces and ranked among the A-10 leaders in digs with 394 … posted 212 kills and 33 blocks … .222 hitting % … registered 10 or more kills 5 times and 10 or more digs 18 times … season-highs: 14 kills vs. San Jose State (9/9); 5 service aces vs. George Washington (10/6) and William & Mary (10/7); 23 digs and 4 blocks vs. North Carolina (11/5).

Before Penn State: Kumfer was rated as one of the top 50 prospects in the country by Volleyball Monthly … a 4-year letterwinner as an outside hitter at Snider HS, she won All State honors as a senior and earned all-conference recognition 3 times … led Snider to the state title in l988 … Captain in 1988-89 … Snider won 90 of 109 matches during her career … member of the Munciana junior team that placed 9th at the USVBA Junior National Tournament in the summer of 1988.
