1989 Season (Freshman) Season Recap: Was one of 7 players to see action in all 41 matches in the 1989 season … a backrow specialist, she totaled 88 digs and 14 service aces and kept opponents honest by chipping in with 3 kills … season-high: 9 digs vs. St. Bonaventure (9/3).
Before Penn State: Spencer earned 12 letters in volleyball, basketball and softball at Elderton HS … an All-State, all-section and all-league selection as a setter, she led Elderton to the 1988 state and league titles … the volleyball team won 89 of 98 matches during her career…selected to compete in the 1989 East West all-star match … an all-section basketball point guard, she also played centerfield for the softball team … competed for the Willow Pond junior team … valedictorian of her senior class.
