Russ Rose Now (2025): “Lindsay was a strong athlete and outside attacker. She had a heavy hand and was aggressive with how she played the game. She had some injuries that held her back at times, but she was a very important contributor to the program.”
1997 Season (Junior): Played in 117 of 120 sets, and all 36 matches … Big Ten Player of the Week (11/31) … ranked 5th on the team with a 2.11 kills/set average, hitting .235 … tied for 2nd on the team (with Carrie Schonveld) with 30 service aces … ranked 3rd on the team with 1.05 blocks/set.
Before Penn State: Anderson was a three-year starter for the Crystal Lake Central H.S. volleyball team; was recognized as a 1993 Chicago Sun-Times and Champaign Gazette first-team All State member and AAU All-American; a Chicago Tribune second-team All-State selection; Anderson led the Tigers to the Fox Valley Conference title; she played on the North Squad in the 1993 Chicago Sun-Times high school all-star match; Anderson participated in the USVBA Junior Olympics in 1992 and 1993, playing for the Sky High Volleyball Club; Anderson also played softball for the Tigers, starting at catcher and first base.
