1988 Season (RS Sophomore) Highlights and Awards: Replicated her award-winning freshman campaign by earning spots on the Northeast Region and Atlantic 10 All-Conference teams last season … again led the Conference in assists with an average of 12.65/set … was one of 3 Penn State players named to the A-10 All-Tournament team … selected to the All-Tournament teams at the Penn State Preview, Baden Invitational, Reebok Classic and Penn State Classic, where she was named Most Valuable Player … finished 1988 ranked 7th nationally in assists … won A-1 0 Player-of-the-Week honors (Nov. 14). after handing out 118 assists in matches against Illinois-Chicago, Northwestern and Duke.
Season Recap: Season totals were 128 kills, 351 digs and 118 blocks … season and career highs: 8 kills (vs. N.C. State and Alabama-Birmingham), 9 blocks (vs. Tennessee) and 24 digs (vs. George Washington and Notre Dame).
Before Penn State: Member of the gold medal team at the 1987 Olympic Sports Festival .. . was listed as a “freshman to watch” by Volleyball Monthly … 4-year letterwinner as a setter and hitter at Winston Churchill HS in Potomac, Md., where the team won the East Coast championship her senior year.
