1991 Season (Junior) Highlights and Awards: All-Academic Big Ten.

Season Recap: For the 2nd straight year, Erika Spencer saw action in more sets (109 of 121) and tallied more service aces (19) and digs (175) than any other backrow specialist on the team … one of 7 players to participate in all 32 matches in 1991, Spencer possesses more experience at the position than any other member of the team … season and career high: 20 digs vs. Purdue (Oct. 5).

1992 Season (Senior)

Before Penn State: Spencer earned 12 letters in volleyball, basketball and softball at Elderton HS … an All-State, all-section and all-league selection as a setter, she led Elderton to the 1988 state and league titles … the volleyball team won 89 of 98 matches during her career…selected to compete in the 1989 East West all-star match … an all-section basketball point guard, she also played centerfield for the softball team … competed for the Willow Pond junior team … valedictorian of her senior class.
