Russ Rose Then (2016): “Of the younger pAboutlayers, I know Wilma has made the biggest jump as far as her level of play. Her serve has become a factor, she’s quick and much stronger than when she came in. I think her strength has really picked up and with the strength comes some confidence in playing the game. I except her to contribute in a variety of ways this campaign.”
Russ Rose Now (2026): “Wilma was a talented, left-handed setter with a high upside, as she was athletic, with a really good serve. She was at Penn State for two years and then transferred to Louisville, where she played very well. She played on the national team in Puerto Rico and has continued to play professionally.”
Before Penn State: A 4-year team captain and MVP at Saint Francis School … helped her team to the 2014 Puerto Rico Lopa El Nuevo Dia Championship … earned LACC All-State Best Setter and MVP honors in 2014 … also lettered in track and field and softball, helping her softball team to an LACC championship in 2014 … member of the Puerto Rican National Team … named Best Setter at Copa Pan Americana U18 in 2013, while also earning silver with her team … earned the bronze medal at the NORCECA U18 games in 2013.
