Russ Rose Then (1995): “Tomuke displays some of the same characteristics that I recognized in Salima (starting setter who graduated last season). Although Tomuke’s not going to be a setter, she possesses great energy that seems to keep everyone’s work-ethic really high and she has great desire to be a really good volleyball player. She improved her ball-handling during her redshirt year and should continue to do that during the preseason. If she can continue her progress, she has the potential to really make an impact on the court.”
Russ Rose Now (2025): “Tomuke was a hitter when she was in club and high school volleyball, and she was a really good basketball player. When she was young, she played against Allen Iverson and some of those individuals in the Maryland/Virginia area. But she came to Penn State as a backrow player. She was very physical and very bright. And she was really, really competitive and high-energy all the time. Tomuke was a good teammate — she spent a lot of time just keeping the team focused and loose.”
1995 Season (RS Freshman) Season Recap: After her redshirt season in 1994, Tomuke played her first season for Penn State in 1995 … saw action in 19 of 35 matches and 23 of 116 sets … played in 10 Big Ten matches … recorded 27 digs on the year, including a season high 0f 6 in the Lady Lions win over Oregon State at the Sunwest Bank Classic (9/9).

What Her Teammates Said: “She’s someone who would do anything to help somebody out. That’s what makes her such a great person.” Junior opposite hitter and roommate Lindsay Anderson.
