Russ Rose Then (1997): “Solina is entering this season as our backup setter. She’s quick, strong, explosive, a great leader and very intelligent. I think she’ll really benefit from being in a gym with Bonnie [Bremner] and I think she’ll make a pretty strong push to be a back row player who can come in and make contributions for us as a freshman. She played Junior ball with Lauren [Cacciamani] so maybe they just mature later, or maybe we just don’t know much about them, but I think with Solena, ‘Quick’ is an appropriate last name for her. She’s explosive, and the thing I like about Solina is she’s an intense and serious competitor. We’ll have to chill her out a little bit and explain to her the importance of laughing and relaxing, but she does bring a good intensity to her activity.”
Russ Rose Now (2025): “Solena was from New York. She was a terrific back row player who always had a smile and always was very mature and responsible. So she was a good student and teammate and was the perfect example of someone who made the group better. She worked hard in practice. She was a pleasure to have in the program.”
