The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has released its August 29, 2011 poll, with California holding down the top spot (3-0; 31 first-place votes), Penn State #2 (1-1; 11 first-place votes — down from 54 last week), Southern Cal #3 (1-1; 5 first-place votes) and Texas #4 (2-0; 9 first-place votes).    #5 Nebraska, #6 Stanford, #10 Hawaii, and #16 Oregon received one first-place vote each.
