Penn State Volleyball Updates Roster, Newcomers Select Jersey Numbers

The Penn State women’s volleyball program recently updated its online roster midway through spring practice, and the five newest Nittany Lions selected the jersey numbers they will wear.

Four of those newcomers are enrolled in classes at Penn State this spring and have begun building chemistry with their new teammates, while middle blocker Jordan Hopp is finishing up her degree at Iowa State this semester before moving to State College.

Izzy Starck, Ava Falduto, Caroline Jurevicius, and Maggie Mendelson were seen posing with the team during a practice last Wednesday, wearing special T-shirts to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day, in a post shared by the program on social media.

Starck and Falduto signed their national letters of intent on November 8, 2023 as the lone members of the program’s 2024 recruiting class, while Jurevicius and Mendelson joined the Nittany Lions via the transfer portal this offseason after starting their college careers at Nebraska. Starck and Falduto are the first Penn State women’s volleyball players to enroll a semester early since Gabby Blossom in 2018.

During her campus visit prior to announcing her commitment to the Nittany Lions, Jurevicius modeled a new sleeveless Nike jersey expected to debut this season in a photoshoot at Rec Hall. The jersey features the university’s well-known “chipmunk” logo under the collar and “Penn State” in script lettering on the front, above the numbers.
