1979 Season (Senior): Named the team’s Most Valuable Player … became the first Penn State Women’s Volleyball player to earn 4 letters. … served as a team captain for the second consecutive season.

Before Penn State: Her Corry Area High School team was undefeated for 4 years … played tennis for the boys team in high school.

Nancy McLaughlin on her role as team captain: “It’s very important this year as a liaison between the team and the coach because there’s no assistant coach. I am the only one who’s in between. Also, having the most years on the team helps. I hope that I can be a positive influence.”
