1992 Season (RS Sophomore) Highlights and Awards: Academic All-Big Ten … First-Team All-Big Ten … All Mideast Region … selected Big Ten Player-of-the-Week 9/21 … ranked 8th in the Big Ten in hitting efficiency (.308 in all matches) and 7th in kills per game (3.92) … named Most Valuable Player of the Penn State Classic and Penn State Invitational.

Season Recap: Played in all 32 matches and 99 of 100 sets … her 388 kills ranked 2nd on the team … recorded 235 digs (3rd on the team) … 62 total blocks ranked 4th on the team … totaled 10 or more kills in 24 of 32 matches … season-highs: 21 kills vs. Illinois (9/26), 5 blocks vs. Indiana (10/31 ), 15 digs, twice.

Before Penn State: Cook lettered in 4 sports at Chesapeake HS and earned 1st-team all-county honors in volleyball and basketball…a setter/hitter, she was selected to compete in an All-Star match in 1989 … was a softball 2nd-team All County pick at shortstop … placed 5th in the state in the shot put her senior year … won the region title in the discus and finished 2nd in the shot… also was a member of the 4x 100-meter relay team … served as captain in volleyball, basketball and softball.
