Russ Rose Now (2026): “Kelly was a physical outside attacker and had a good arm. In practice she was able to push the older players and demonstrate that she had a legitimate reason to be there. She was a good attacker and a good player. I recall she wanted more playing opportunities than were going to be available at Penn State with the older players we had in the program. She left after two years and had a successful career at James Madison.”

Before Penn State: Four-year letter winner and team captain at Parkland High School in Allentown, Pa. … helped guide the team to 3 LVC Championships, 3 district championships and 1 state championship … earned Second Team All-League honors as a sophomore … a 2-time Lehigh Valley Conference First Team pick and MVP and a 2-time District XI First Team selection and MVP … selected as All-State Tournament MVP as a junior … 2-time PrepVolleyball.com All-American, National Junior of the Year finalist and member of the Senior Aces list … earned Under Armour First Team All-American, Max Preps Second Team All-American and a Mizuno Third Team All-American honors … selected as the Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year, the Morning Call Player of the Year and the Parkland Press Athlete of the Year … voted Parkland’s Most Athletic as a senior … earned spots on the Honor and High Honor Roll all 4 years … also lettered in basketball and track and field … a District XI gold medalist in the triple jump … earned First Team All-Conference honors for track and field.
