1988 Season (Junior) Season Recap: Served as a reserve outside hitter in her first season at Penn State, competing in 21 of the team’s 40 matches, including the NCAA Tournament match against Notre Dame … totaled 10 kills, 6 blocks and 10 digs.
Before Penn State: Griffith transferred from Alaska-Anchorage after her sophomore year … led the Continental Divide Conference in blocking her freshman season… won scholar-athlete award two consecutive years … competed in volleyball, cross country skiing, soccer, track, basketball and cross country at Dimond HS in Anchorage, Alaska … as a senior, she was a member of the Alaska Gold Youth soccer team that participated in three tournaments in Europe … played on a junior national team in 1984-85 … majoring in exercise science.
