Russ Rose Now (2026): “I met Jen when we had a camp at the IM building on campus, and she was playing pepper. We were in Gym 1 and Gym 3, and she was playing pepper in Gym 2. She was pretty good, so I asked her if she was in college, because there often were grad students in there playing. She said she was, so I asked if she would consider coming out for the volleyball team, and she did. Although she only played eight sets all season, she practiced hard, was a good teammate, and she’s coaching juniors in New Jersey and getting her PhD in plant pathology, I think, at Rutgers. Very bright young woman. Jen is a great example of how there are a lot of benefits for people to be on the team even if they don’t play much – how it prepares you for so many other things in life.”
2017 Season (Senior) Highlights and Awards: Academic All-Big Ten selection … graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science in Plan Sciences … as of July 2025 is the assistant women’s volleyball coach at Holy Family Univesity and the head coach of the Princeton Volleyball Club 17U National Team … previously served as the head coach of the Warren Sixpack Volleyball Club 16-2 Team and Core Volleyball Club 18U National Team.

Before Penn State: 2015 Season (Sophomore at Penn State Mont Alto): Started all 23 matches, dished out 495 assists, adding 68 aces and 146 digs … earned PSUAC Second Team All-Conference honors … PSUAC Academic All-American … Penn State Mont Alto Chancellor’s Award winner.
2014 Season (Freshman at Penn State Mont Alto): Earned PSUAC Second Team All-Conference honors … started all 26 matches, dished out 586 assists, tallied 70 aces, and scooped up 179 digs, helping the team to an 18-8 record.
High School: Played volleyball for 4 years at Northern High in Dillsburg, Pa. … earned 3 varsity letters … 2-time Second Team Mid Penn Conference All-Star … set the Northern High record for digs/set and aces/set.
