Russ Rose Then (1994): “Heidi might be one of the few people in the history of women’s volleyball to play in the USVBA Junior Championship match in July and then play, as a freshman, in the Division I NCAA Championship in December. I’m not sure if there’s ever been another player to do that feat. Heidi did a lot of things really well her first year. I think that if she can become better at really focusing on the things that she does well, she’ll have an exceptional and rewarding career. She does several things well. She is a good ball-handler and plays tough defense. Heidi has the ability to incite the crowd because she’s a small, aggressive attacker. During the spring, she was our best defensive player.”
