At Penn State, New Faces Get with the Program

With the departure of Megan Hodge and Alisha Glass (along with their three NCAA Championship trophies and multiple All-American awards), and the injury to Darcy Dorton, it was obvious that Penn State would face challenges this season.  Even with returning stars like First Team AVCA All-Americans Blair Brown , (Sr., Opp.) and Arielle Wilson, (Sr., MH), standout defender Fatima Balza (Sr., MH), So. Setter Kristin Carpenter, and backrow stalwarts Alyssa D’Errico (Sr., L) and Cathy Quilico, the presence of nine, untested, new on campus, getting used to it all, and all at once, freshman, suggested it would be unrealistic — remember that word — to expect the Nittany Lions to move forward without skipping a beat.
