1989 Season (Sophomore) Season Recap: Filled the role of a backup outside hitter and gained valuable experience playing against many of the best teams in the nation … appeared in 31 of 41 matches … recorded 56 kills, 16 service aces and 48 digs … season-highs: 6 kills vs. Duquesne (10/22); 7 digs vs. Central Michigan (11/11) … selected to compete for the East team at the National Sports Festival.
Before Penn State: Boner won all-county honors as a middle blocker/outside hitter at Dallastown Area HS in 1986 and 1987 … competed in the 1986 and 1988 USVBA Junior Nationals and 1987-88 AAU Junior Olympics … twice won the Most Valuable Player award and served as captain her senior year. .. member of the South Pennsylvania junior team … also competed in track.
