Carrie Schonveld

Carrie Schonveld #7 OH 6’0″

Russ Rose Then (1996): “I think Carrie is as skilled a player as we have brought in in the last 3 or 4 years.  She has a great touch on the ball in defense and passing, and I think she is going to be able to come in and contribute immediately at the net. She is going to be both a left side and right side player for us depending on the situation. I thought she was one of the top players in the Midwest, and I am confident that she is going to be able to compete successfully in the Big Ten.”

Russ Rose Now (2025):  “Carrie was a great six-rotation player — a player who, like Bonnie Bremner and Lauren Cacciamani, was on the court all the time.  She was an exceptional passer, an exceptional blocker, and a very strong attacker. She was playing right when people were starting to run the slide.  Her club team, Dead Frog Volleyball Club, was the top team in Michigan, and she was really skilled.  Carrie had played with Lauren and Bonnie for four years, so they were very comfortable playing together. Carrie was somebody that I could match up on the other team’s best attacker.  She made important contributions as a player, but was also a valuable member of the team as a competitor and a great teammate.”
