Russ Rose Now (2025): “Laura was homeschooled and came from a good club program. She didn’t play a lot, but she stayed with the program all 4 years, and always worked hard while she was on the team. She was a great representative of the program, always trying to find ways to make a contribution. She’s working now with club kids in the Pittsburg area, and I’m sure she’s equally successful.”
2015 Season (Senior): Saw action in 20 matches during her final season, playing in 34 sets … totaled 29 digs for the season, for an average of 0.85 digs/set … had 2 digs against Auburn (9/18) and 1 dig at USF (9/19) … recorded a career-high 8 digs in her first collegiate start against Indiana (10/16) … started against No. 13 Purdue (10/17) and logged 7 digs … had one dig at No. 23 Michigan (10/21) … posted 5 digs and 1 ace at Maryland (11/5) … recorded 1 dig against Maryland (11/21) … totaled 1 dig against Northwestern (11/25) … had 1 dig at No. 5 Nebraska (11/28).
Before Penn State: Was homeschooled in the Mars Area School District in Mars, Pa. … was a 4-year varsity letterwinner and team captain … led her team to the Section Championships 3 times … was a 2-time First Team All-Section selection … named to the All-WPIAL Second Team in 2010 and earned a spot on the All-WPIAL First Team in 2011 … was a 2011 First Team All-State honoree.
