Russ Rose Then (2013): “Maddie is a player who has experience in some of our biggest matches and she’s made great contributions in these matches since she has arrived as a freshman. Heading into her senior year, I am expecting a similar effort and performance that she has already shown.”
Russ Rose Now (2025): “Maddie was a 6-rotation player who came in that 2010 class. She had terrific skills, but she didn’t play as much for us as a 6-rotation player. She played in almost all of the matches, coming in to serve as well as provide a different look for the opponents at the net. She had a great serve, competed hard, and was always an exceptional team player. I enjoyed the contributions that she made. She always had a smile on her face and worked hard. After her Penn State career, she was selected for the U.S. Women’s National Team for the 2014 NORCECA World Championship Qualifying Tournament, along with Katie Slay. She was a fine player, and now is the mother of 5 children, I believe.”
