Russ Rose Then (2000): “Zoe is the biggest unknown for us, as we haven’t had the chance to see her play.  I like her size and she appears to be very experienced.”

Russ Rose Now (2025): “Zoe was from Bulgaria. She was physically very strong and had a good arm. She was a member of the team who worked hard. She didn’t play alot because there were some people that were a little more experienced, but she made the best of her time at Penn State.”

Before Penn State: A four-year starter at outside hitter at the School of Sports Specialization in Bulgaria; led Levsky Sofia to a fifth-place showing at the 1997 Bulgarian Junior National Championships and a third-place finish at the Junior International Volleyball Tournament in Italy; led squad to the Bulgarian Junior National Championship in 1995 and 1996; led high school squad to the Bulgarian Junior Sports High School Championship in 1995.
