Penn State Grabs 3-1 Win Over Marquette (On to the Finals!)

It’s never just one player, but Marquette might be excused for thinking Cam Hannah never left the court, after the Senior OH totaled 24 kills on .476 hitting to lead Penn State to a 3-1 win (25-15, 25-21, 24-26, 25-20) over the Golden Eagles.  Jess Mruzik (20 kills) also was an offensive force, and Taylor Trammell chipped in with 9 kills and a match-high 4 blocks.  Penn State hit .280 for the match.

Gillian Grimes led Penn State with 15 digs, followed by Izzy Starck (13 digs), and Jess Mruzik (13 digs). Ava Falduto came up big with a match-high 4 service aces.  Marquette had a .210 hitting percentage for the match.

The win puts Penn State in the NCAA Regional Finals for the first time since 2019 and the 21st time in program history.  They’ll face Big East Champion Creighton at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
