World Grand Prix: Germany Sweeps USA

For the second consecutive match, Germany swept the USA (25-22, 25-18, 27-25), this time in Chinese Taipei. The loss left the US Women with a 2-4 record and sitting in eighth place in the World Grand Prix. Foluke Akinradewo led all scorers with 13 points followed by Jordan Larson with eight points, and Nancy Metcalf and Nicole Fawcett (Zanesfield, Ohio) (who started only the third set) with six points each. U.S. Head Coach Hugh commented in his post-match press conference that “Germany played a good game tactically. It was a good lesson for our young players.”
