Russ Rose Then (2001): “Syndie is an experienced volleyball player who I think once she gets acclimated to college volleyball in the United States is going to make a nice contribution to our team. What I like about Syndie is that she has a good arm swing. She’s athletic and I think she takes pride in her performance.”
Russ Rose Now (2025): “Syndie developed into a really good player. What I liked about Syndie was that even though she wasn’t real physical, she had an excellent volleyball IQ and played a very good all-around game. In 2004, she was our first-ever AVCA National Player of the Week. I said back then that I would recruit her again because I really enjoyed coaching her and I knew she was going to get her degree in engineering and use it. After college she returned to Canada and is working now for Siemens.”
