Jenna Hampton tied Stephanie Samedy for the match high with 16 digs, while senior setter Gabby Blossom turned in another impressive performance with 44 assists and 14 digs in one of Penn State’s best matches of the season so far. Blossom guided the Nittany Lions to a .356 hitting percentage. Freshman defensive specialist Quinn Menger had two of Penn State’s four aces.
In a crucial stretch of the season, Penn State delivered a timely all-around showing that could prove to be especially important down the road when deciding postseason seeding. Penn State even rallied from a 21-16 deficit to win the second set. The Nittany Lions (14-5, 7-2 Big Ten) will travel to Madison to face No. 3 Wisconsin Saturday at 7 p.m. ET in another huge test on Big Ten Network.
