Purdue Falls to Nittany Lions in Rec Hall Sweep (for Coach Katie’s 200th Win!)

Penn State chalked up a 3-0 win (25-20, 25-23, 25-16) over Purdue in front of 2610 happy Rec Hall fans.

In 2023, Purdue had Penn State’s number, defeating the Nittany Lions 3-1 at Rec Hall on October 22nd and 3-2 on November 5th at Holloway Gym.  2024 has been a different story, as the Nittany Lions swept the Boilermakers in West Lafayette on September 25th, and followed that up on Thursday night with a second 3-0 win (25-20, 25-23, 25-16) over the Boilermakers in front of 2610 happy Rec Hall fans.

Camryn Hannah led the Nittany Lions with 14 kills, with Jess Mruzik chipping in with 11 kills and Maggie Mendelson with 10.  Quinn Menger had another solid match from the service line, registering 3 aces, while, Camryn Hannah added 2 aces.  

Penn State held Purdue to .142 hitting, and brought its record against Purdue to 4-2 under Coach Katie.
