No. 9 Penn State women’s volleyball wrapped up its lengthy road stretch Sunday afternoon in Ann Arbor, sweeping No. 17 Michigan 25-17, 25-21, 25-23 at the Crisler Center.
Freshman middle blocker Kaitlyn Hord led the Nittany Lions in kills with 10, while Serena Gray and Jonni Parker added nine kills apiece in the victory. Senior outside hitters Nia Reed and Taylor Leath recorded seven kills each.
Bryanna Weiskircher dished out a match-high 35 assists and tallied seven digs for the Nittany Lions, who outhit the Wolverines .248 to .150. Penn State also outblocked Michigan 9-6, with Gray posting a match-high six blocks.
Michigan’s Carly Skjodt and Paige Jones combined for 26 kills in the team’s second loss of the season. Gray and junior libero Kendall White earned Big Ten recognition following their respective performances over the weekend. White had a team-high 15 digs Sunday. The Nittany Lions swept Michigan State Friday in East Lansing.

Russ Rose’s Nittany Lions (11-3, 2-2 Big Ten) return home to Rec Hall for the first time in over a month when they host Maryland Friday at 7:30 p.m. Leath leads the team in kills with 120.
