The U.S. Women’s National Team took less than an hour to defeat Barbados 3-0 on Tuesday evening, by scores of 25-6, 25-11 and 25-12. The match, which was held in Orlando, Florida, took 59 minutes to complete and was viewed by 1,200 fans. Former Penn State All American Christa Harmotto scored five points for the U.S. Women. “The U.S. Women’s National Team handled visiting Barbados (SCORES) on Tuesday evening to improve to 2-0 in the FIVB World Championship NORCECA Pool G being held at UCF Arena in Orlando. The U.S. meets Costa Rica on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., the final match of the third-round qualification event. The winner will receive direct entry into the FIVB World Championship being played in November 2010 in Japan. The second-place team will compete in the four-team NORCECA Playoff Round that will fill NORCECA’s final two World Championship vacancies.” More from USA Volleyball.
