The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) September 5, 2011 poll continues with California holding down the top spot (6-0; 48 first-place votes), Penn State #2 (4-1; 18 first-place votes), with Stanford (edging into the #3 spot, with a 4-0 record), Illinois (#4), Washington (#5) and UCLA (#8) all receiving one first-place vote. From the Big Ten, Minnesota was #6, Nebraska #11, Purdue #13, and Michigan #20.
