Team Roster for the 2009 Penn State Women’s Volleyball Team.

Among the key returnees from Penn State’s 2008 National Championship team are First Team AVCA All-Americans Megan Hodge and Alisha Glass, Second Team AVCA All-Americans Blair Brown and Arielle Wilson, and veterans Alyssa D’Errico and Kelsey Ream. Also returning for 2009 are Junior Cathy Quilico, and sophomores Katie Kabbes, Heather Tice, and Megan Shifflett.

The Penn State squad will be bolstered by five newcomers, including 5-7 freshman outside hitter Kristin Carpenter [Editor’s note: listed as a Setter/BR in 2009 Team Prospectus] , 6-2 freshman outside hitter Darcy Dorton, 6-0 freshman setter Marika Racibarskas, 6-3 junior middle hitter Fatima Balza, and 5-8 junior defensive specialist Jessica Ullrich.

Penn State, whose last loss was to Stanford on Sept. 15, 2007 in five sets, opens the 2009 Season on August 28th against Miami (Ohio) in St. Louis, Mo.
