Penn State women’s volleyball will debut black and pink uniforms paying homage to the university’s original colors during its throwback match against Illinois Sunday at 1 p.m. at Rec Hall.
Redshirt senior pin hitter Anastasiya Kudryashova modeled the new alternate uniforms in a video posted on the program’s social media accounts.

Katie Schumacher-Cawley’s Nittany Lions will join other Penn State teams like men’s basketball and the track and field/cross country program in wearing black and pink uniforms. Penn State volleyball will wear black shorts and black jerseys with pink accents against the Illini.
The team has worn pink jerseys before for its annual Dig Pink match, but this will be the first time the program incorporates this fairly rare look, which Nike designed this off-season in partnership with the university’s equipment staff.
The Nittany Lions have worn their white sleeveless jerseys, which they debuted during the 2020 season, often this fall after only wearing them once in the 2021 season opener against Georgia Tech. The program is planning to add a couple new uniform combinations next season, too.
No. 13 Penn State (13-2, 2-2 Big Ten) will travel to Columbus for a sold-out match Friday at 6:30 p.m. against No. 6 Ohio State on Big Ten Network before returning to Rec Hall Sunday against Illinois.
