No. 14 Penn State women’s volleyball lost to No. 3 Wisconsin 3-2 (27-25, 30-32, 25-20, 23-25, 7-15) Saturday night in Madison after leading the match 2-1.
Kaitlyn Hord and Jenna Hampton were both excellent against the Badgers, tallying 21 kills on a .475 hitting percentage and a career-high 27 digs, respectively. Hampton’s counterpart, Wisconsin libero Lauren Barnes, was also incredibly impressive with a match-high 29 digs.
Erika Pritchard returned to the court after missing the last seven matches with an apparent injury, coming off the bench to record nine kills. Pritchard struggled at times to keep the ball in play, however, tying Jonni Parker with 10 attack errors in the loss. Parker and Gabby Blossom had double-doubles for the Nittany Lions, who hit .185 against the Badgers. Full stats can be found here.
The Nittany Lions (14-6, 7-3 Big Ten) return to Rec Hall Friday when they host Maryland at 7:30 p.m. Penn State beat the Terrapins in five sets earlier this season on September 29 in College Park.
