15 Lions See Action in Nittany Lion Sweep
Against an overmatched Rutgers (6-9) squad, Penn State Head Coach Russ Rose gave 15 Nittany Lions the opportunity to show what they could do, and the squad responded with a sweep (25-12, 25-17, 25-14).
6-6 So. MH Katie Slay posted 10 kills without an error for a career-best .769 attack %, while 6-4 So. RS/Opp Ariel Scott contributed 9 (.273 attack %). 6-5 Fr. OH Aiyana Whitney totaled 7 kills (.278 attack %). 5-11 Fr. S Micha Hancock guided the offense to a .419 attack % with 33 assists, and added 2 service aces to give her a team-leading total of 26. Sophomore Deja McClendon led the match with 10 digs, and added 6 kills. 6-6 So. MH Katie Slay registered four total blocks.
