Girls Volleyball Senior Spotlight: Nia Reed of Immaculate Heart

When Nia Reed is in the front row, an opponent is lucky to hit the ball past the net, let alone for a kill. Reed, a rising senior on the Immaculate Heart girls volleyball team, stuffed the ball more than 100 times in her junior season — her third year on varsity.
At 6 feet 1, this middle blocker has laid siege to an opponent’s offense whenever she rotates into the front row. But she’s not just there to stick her hands up and hope the ball runs into them.
“I like to score points,” said Reed, 17. “I think I’m one of my team’s main offensive threats.”
