Russ Rose Then (2016): “Emily came to our camp at Penn State for a couple of years. She has a good volleyball IQ, is quick, has a good platform and plays the game hard. I would think that she will be in the mix for getting some opportunities as a freshman.”
2016 Season (Freshman): Played in 8 matches, playing in 11 sets as a defensive specialist … posted 5 digs and 2 service aces in 2016 … logged a dig in collegiate debut against Siena (9/9) … recorded a dig against Hofstra (9/10) … logged a pair of service aces and a season-best 3 digs against Rhode Island (9/16).
Before Penn State: A 4-year letterwinner at Chantilly, she helped the Chargers to a Conference 6A championship in 2013 as the team’s libero … served as team captain in 2015-16, picking up team MVP honors from 2014-16 … earned first team VHSL 6A All-Conference honors from 2013-16 and First Team All-Region and All-State honors following the 2015-16 season … earned ALL-MET honorable mention honors in 2015-16, having previously earned Concorde Conference MVP distinction in 2013-14 … played club volleyball with Metro Volleyball Club of Washington D.C., helping her team to gold in the Sports Performance National Junior Classic Open.
