Darcy Dorton

Darcy Dorton #11 OH 6’2″

Russ Rose Then (2010): “Darcy is in that strange place where you’re recuperating from an injury and you’re not as involved in some things. Darcy’s strength is her passion and energy to play and I hope those things win out in the end. Until she’s ready to play, we’ll need her to be a memor and help the younger players.”

Russ Rose Now (2025): “Darcy is one of those unique individuals. She won a High School Championship, a Club Championship, and an NCAA Division 1 National Championship in the same calendar year. Darcy was a fearless volleyball player who came in as a freshman, hit the ground running, and never looked back. She had no fear. A lot of young people, males and females, have some apprehension at certain times. Darcy was never afraid of the moment. Unfortunately, she had a knee injury that took her out of her sophomore year in 2010. She played a bit for us in 2011, and after that season, we talked about what was best for her. She elected to go to the College of Charleston and was an all-conference player there.  After she graduated, she went into coaching. She’s now the assistant coach at Ball State, after being the head coach for a number of years at Eastern Michigan.”
