Penn State women’s volleyball commit Ava Falduto will participate in the United States’ national team development program fall training series September 23-25 in Phoenix, Arizona.
This is the sixth time Falduto has been invited to an NTDP event, participating in three in 2021 and three more in 2022. The Elmhurst, Illinois, native verbally committed to the Nittany Lions on June 19.
Falduto, who checks in at 5-foot-8, plays her high school volleyball for IC Catholic Prep and represents New WAVE on the club circuit. Falduto played for the Great Lakes region in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was selected to the all-tournament team a few weeks ago at the USA Volleyball All-Star Championships July 20-23.
Falduto watched fellow Penn State commit Izzy Starck and the U.S. U19 youth national team bring home the gold medal at the Pan American Cup in July in Tulsa. The U.S. swept Brazil in the championship match to earn a spot in the 2023 FIVB World Championship and didn’t drop a set the entire tournament.
Falduto and Starck are Penn State’s two current commits in the program’s 2024 recruiting class, picking the Nittany Lions the summer before their junior season of high school volleyball.
Falduto is one of the top liberos in the country next cycle, and her early commitment to the Nittany Lions will likely draw other high-level prospects to Happy Valley who want to compete alongside her.
Falduto and her high school team are currently gearing up for the fall season, which will offer more opportunities for Falduto to solidify her standing as one of the premier talents at her position.
