Russ Rose Then (2012): “Ariel is a key player for us as a returning All-American. Last year she had fantastic matches and matches where she wasn’t able to have the same sort of impact. We’ll need her to be ready to play every night and a lot of our fortuncs will rest on how she performs. She can be an overpowering attacker from both the front and back row.”
Russ Rose Now (2025): “A. Scott was a terrific college volleyball player. If she had wanted to continue playing at a professional level, she would have been equally successful at the net and durable as well. She was similar to a few other players we had at Penn State, in that she could play all three front row positions. So much of our success I thought was aligned with the contributions that A. Scott provided, as there were matches where she led us kills as well as blocks. A great deal of our success was because we could count on her to do those things. A. Scott was a terrific player coming in out of high school and she had a great career – she was a multi-year All American and won the Senior Class award at Penn State for her academic and athletic achievements.”
