
Russ Rose Then (2005): “Ann will enter the season as our backup setter. She has played a lot of volleyball and is quite comfortable on the court. She needs to improve the quality of her serve to a level that she can generate points, and then she will get more opportunities. She is a hardworking young person that always has a big smile available for others.”
Russ Rose Now (2025): “Ann Naylor was another person who was happy to be at Penn State. Her dad and a lot of her siblings went to Penn State and she married a former Penn State football player (Rich Ohrnberger). She had a good serve and wasn’t afraid to defend and play hard. She was here at Penn State for the right reasons, she cared about the program, and she worked hard every day. She played in half of our matches during our 2007 National Championship Season.”
2005 Season (Sophomore): Academic All-Big Ten … saw action in 19 matches and 22 games as a serving and defensive specialist … recorded career-high four digs against Western Michigan (9/1) at the Hawaiian Airlines Classic and tied that mark against Pennsylvania (9/17) … picked up one dig at Illinois (11/12) … tallied first career service ace against Pacific (9/9) at the Nebraska Players Challenge and recorded another one at Purdue (11/11).
Before Penn State: Two-time letterwinner at Harvard-Westlake High School in North Hollywood, Calif. … was team captain for the Wolverines during her senior season, compiling a 17-9 record … during junior season, squad was Mission League Champions and CIF runners-up, reaching the state quarterfinals … also lettered in basketball at Harvard-Westlake.
