Penn State rallied after dropping Set 1, to down Northwestern 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 29-27, 25-21).
After dropping the first set 23-25, Penn State, led by Taylor Trammell’s 12 kills (.857 hitting!!) and six blocks, took the next three sets (25-18, 29-27, 25-21) for a 3-1 win over Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The win left Penn State with a sparkling 23-1 season’s record, and a perfect 13-0 record in the B1G. Jess Mruzik”s 21 kills were tops for the match, while Camryn Hannah added 16 kills. Ava Falduto (24 digs), and Gillian Grimes (23 digs, hitting the 1,000 dig career mark with her 19th dig), were stellar in the back row, with Jess Mruzik chipping in with 6 digs.
