State College, PA. March 17, 2009. By Gordon Brunskill. “Like a lot of other college students, Nicole Fawcett left town last week for spring break. The Penn State senior spent the week in the Caribbean at a place with the pool, and as you would expect of a two-time NCAA champion and the national Player of the Year, she even played a little bit of volleyball. This, however, is not about slathering on a coating of SPF 30 and playing on a beach. Fawcett is now getting paid to play. ‘It’s crazy,’ Fawcett said Monday night. ‘I could care less if I got paid. It’s my passion, it’s what I love doing, so to get paid for something you love to do and surround yourself with people who also love doing that, it’s a dream come true. It’s kind of a surreal thing.’ More from centredaily.com.
