In game 1, Penn State took the first eight points, winning 15-2. The Nittany Lions had 10 team blocks in game 1 and hit .258, with Stanford totalling 19 hitting errors. Things looked better for Stanford in the second game, as it led 3-1, but the Nittany Lions tied the game at 6, scored six straight points for a 12-6 lead, and won the game 15-10.
